SEE THE MOUNTAIN GORILLAS IN THE WILD
Most visitors to Uganda always wonder who is watching who? Find out for yourself in western Uganda's premier endangered apes reserve: “Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park” where the chances of encountering the great apes on a gorilla trekking adventure are very high indeed. For those on a tight time schedule we would recommend either a four day safari trekking the gorillas or three day primate tracking adventure and those with more time, there are longer itineraries which blend the endangered primates with game viewing like eight day Chimps, Gorillas and Game Adventure or six day gorillas and wildlife Safari, all of which have a single aim to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience. Gorilla permits are limited, so you have to book early especially in peak season (December to January and July to August) though spotting these giant apes in the wild is a year-round activity but there are definitely drier months than others.
However, eight permits per day are sold for each of the groups in Bwindi (families) at UWA Headquarters in Kampala. Book at least 4 months (but not more than one year) in advance to ensure that requested dates are available.Additionally, tracking in Bwindi can be strenuous, therefore ensure physical fitness. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Your expedition usually starts at 8:30 am local time and occasionally lasts the whole day! For conservation reasons, visits to the gorillas are tightly controlled. Therefore,be part of the life time fun experience during your vacation holiday in Africa.
