13 DAYS UGANDA AND RWANDA GORILLA TREKKING SAFARI.

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali airport.
Be picked by our Driver/guide and there after be transferred to the Hotel for Briefing about the next exciting days before you. Relax after your flight. Dinner and Overnight in Kigali at Mille collines or Okapi Hotel
Day 2: Discover Kigali
Brace yourself for an exciting city tour in the morning. Take a brief tour in the National Museum in Butare. Take as many pictures as you wish in the modern building which has different sections and displays a wide collection of monochrome pictures, traditional artifacts and objects, tools and different craft products. Get a spectacular performance of the national ballet with the Intore-dancers.
Pay tribute to the Kigali Genocide Memorial which tells the history of Rwanda leading up to genocide in 1994 and catalogues the details of the genocide using photographs, video, written accounts and a range of artifacts. It includes personal testimonies and a moving memorial to the children of the Rwandan genocide. This Memorial Centre has gained a world-wide reputation for the powerful exhibition and its work in promoting peace; take your time to absorb its important message.
Stay a night and also have dinner at Ibis or Credo hotel.
Day 3: chimpanzee tracking
Awake at dawn, prepare to trek Nyungwe Forest national park a preserved part of rain forest which houses 13 species in all, including humankind’s closest living relative the chimpanzee, as well as the handsome L’hoest monkeys and hundred-strong troops of the delightfully acrobatic Angolan colobus which may be over 300 individuals. These are the largest troops of this species known in the world! Nyungwe forest counts 25% of the African Primates! And you don’t have to spend a lot of energy because it requires less strenuous hiking. Transfer to Butare for dinner and night at Ibis Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Gisenyi to relax at the lake kivu
First thing at the beginning of the day will be to have you driven to The Lake Kivu a large deposit of fresh water that marks the western border with DR Congo and one of the Great Lakes of Africa. Beneath the lake lies vast reserves of approximately 55 billion cubic of dissolved methane gas which have not been exploited. Lake Kivu is a tourist center, safe to swim; there nice beaches, gorgeous landscapes and the sunsets are stunning. All you should do on this day is to relax. Spend a night at Paradise Malahide or Kivu Serena Hotel
Day 5: Lake Kivu Boat ride
Fresh breakfast will be waiting as soon as you are prepared. Then later, enjoy a boat ride on the Lake Kivu. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Virunga the Home of massive Mountain Gorillas. Admire magnificent views of the beautiful, hilly countryside which gives Rwanda its name as “a country of a thousand hills”- Stay night at Kinigi Guest House or Tourist Hotel. Dinner inclusive.
Day 6: Gorillas Trekking
On this morning, spoil yourself with breakfast provided because you are to trek in the forest on the edge of the Virunga mountain chain to find one of the last mountain gorilla families in the world. Therefore you will need that energy. A light picnic lunch will be packed just in case it takes longer than expected to find these magnificent creatures. Contented and happy, you will later be transferred to Kisoro tourist Hotel for dinner and a night. This is in Uganda ‘the pearl of africa’.
Day 7: Drive to Bunyonyi
Having spent your first night in Uganda, take your time to enjoy your breakfast. Then you will go on to enjoy a Boat ride given to you by an expert on Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the peace and tranquility this lake offers as you observe thousands of birds going about their business by the lake shores. Go back to hotel for a mouthwatering lunch to celebrate your discovery of the worlds most sought for birds. Do a brief village walk later, and then Relax at Bunyonyi Overland Club for accommodation and dinner later.
Day 8: Bunyonyi- Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a cup of coffee embark on a road to queen elizabeth that winds up into the forested hills and the views which are breathtaking- and you have plenty of time to admire them because the stretch is unsurfaced that you can only drive very slowly. It passes through deep-farmed valleys with rolling hills. The southern sector of Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions. The concentration of game, with large herds of Uganda kobs, Topis and buffalos, is found in the savannah highlands and at the Lake Edward flats, where the number of elephants is on the rise.
Late in the afternoon enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos, buffalos, elephants and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species- dinner and night at mweya safari lodge/simba safari camp/Rwenzori International inn.
Day 9: Transfer to Murchison National park
Leave Kibale by road to Murchison Falls for a lifetime experience where you will see the most powerful falls that have quite a breathtaking sight. Waters of the mighty Nile squeeze through a narrow gorge before plunging below with a strong mighty force. This makes such a spectacular view. Pose for as many pictures to show off back home. Have some lunch and then leave for a game drive up to the top of the falls to view lions, buffaloes and lots of other animals. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Camp.
Day 10: Game drive in Murchison Park
Have early Break fast; set off for a game drive across a ferry up to Pakuba, there you may get a chance to see animals like lions, leopards, hyenas, foxes, giraffes, and many others. Go back to the hotel for lunch and then get ready for a launch drive along the Nile up to the bottom of the falls. Chances of sighting the rare shoe bill stork are many though not a guarantee, continue up to the bottom of the falls where you will see marine animals like the crocodiles, schools of hippos and many species of birds. Retreat afterwards to relax, have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 11: Transfer to Jinja- Source of Nile
Prepare for a long journey from Murchison Falls by road to Jinja which will take about an 8 hours drive. It will reward you with awesome panoramic views. Enroute have a Stopover for lunch in Kampala and then Proceed to Jinja town to visit the source of Nile, the major north-flowing river in Africa, generally regarded as the longest river in the world. Having been involved in a long journey, rest, relax and do dinner and overnight at sunset Hotel or Triangle Hotel
Day 12: Nile River
Look forward to an action packed day as soon as you jump out of bed. Feast on a huge breakfast and then dedicate the rest of the day to white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, quad biking and lots of others on the roaring river Nile and Bujagali Falls. Have a late lunch and later depart to Kampala and if time allows you can visit the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine and continue on to Kampala. You will be booked in to Equatorial Hotel for dinner and a night.
Day 13: Visit Ngamba Island
Early in the morning, you will be driven to Entebbe. After briefing by your guides, you will be leaving for the island by motor boat on Lake Victoria at around 9.00am. The boat takes about 45 minutes or an hour depending the boat you take and ride to Ngamba Island, crossing the Equator en-route. On arrival at the island, home to orphanage chimpanzees, you will be given a short introduction and briefing on the sanctuary. It is interesting to watch the chimps interact with each other and with their keepers. In the relatively short amount of time you are there you will be able to see such different personalities amongst the group, with some whistling for food and others clapping.
You will return to the mainland where you will meet your safari guide who will drive you to Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre or botanical gardens depending on your choice. This is a must point to see a shoebill as well as rhino. Spend your last night in Uganda at Entebbe Guest House.
Day 14: depart
You will be picked up by the driver to be dropped off at the airport to depart with beautiful memories of your African tour.
