GORILLA SAFARI – 8 DAYS
DAY 1: ENTEBBE – KAMPALA: CITY OF SEVEN HILLS
you will be picked from the airport and taken to your proposed accommodation in Kampala. Lucky for you if your flight arrives in the morning you get a chance to get to know Kampala. It is important though to change your currency in Ugandan shillings at the airport. You will be later taken for a city tour so that you can visit some exciting places with the help of your driver/guide. These may include; Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, museum and many others. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel Kampala /Hotel Africana or Kampala bed and breakfast
DAY 2: KAMPALA – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK.
Wake up early for breakfast and set off for Bwindi, which is around an 8-10 hour drive. Stop over at the equator, take photos and also visit the craft village. Drive on to mbarara and stop but this time for lunch. Later, pass through the beautiful evergreen mountain country that is, the “Little Switzerland of Uganda”. Late in the evening, you will arrive for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs (Luxury) or Buhoma community Banda’s (Basic)
DAY 3: BWINDI GORILLA SAFARIS

with a packed lunch, leave early in the morning after breakfast in time for a brief before you start to trek. You will be briefed on how to conduct your self around these creatures for conservation purposes. Tracking mountain gorillas is unpredictable since they move a lot, so it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will take in the process. But most probably 2-8 hours, and you should be prepared to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. However the effort is worth it once you set your eyes on these rare gorillas. Afterwards, return for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs accommodation (Luxury) or Buhoma community Banda’s (Basic)
DAY 4: BWINDI QUEEN ELIZABETH
after your breakfast, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is reputable for a variety of wildlife and it is referred to as a birder’s paradise! First you will explore the famous Ishasha Sector, to see the tree-climbing lions. Take as many pictures as you want. Later in the evening, retire for dinner and accommodation at mweya safari lodge/Jacana safari Lodge for luxury or Institute of Ecology for basic accommodation
DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
depart for a game drive in the Northern parts of the park along the Kasenyi track at exactly 6:a.m. you will get the chance of watching animals hunt for their prey. This early morning game drive in the park, provides excellent opportunities to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. Have lunch and on a full stomach; enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. You will pass through the highest concentration of Hippos ever seen any where else in the world and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This site will provide an excellent platform for you to take as many pictures. Birding and game viewing are very possible at once. The overwhelming number of birds in different species makes this destination a magnet for bird watchers. Dinner and overnight stay at mweya safari lodge/Jacana safari Lodge (luxury) or Institute of Ecology (basic) accommodation
DAY 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK.
Get to choose whether to explore Kyambura Wildlife Reserve driving through grassland area. Pass by the astonishing gorge of the tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an extra ordinary experience tracking chimpanzees. It’s a lucrative experience not only to see the chimpanzees, but also to see the gorgeous river valley that houses numerous birds and butterfly species, transfer to Kibale National Park thereafter, a proclaimed home of Primates. Have Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge (Luxury) or Kanyankyu ecological site (Basic)
DAY 7: KIBALE CHIMP TREKKING/ PRIMATE WALK
have breakfast and then, be driven to Kibale Forest, for a primate’s tour. It has a reputation for the highest number of primate species in the whole of Africa. Set off at 8.00 am in the morning for a 2-3 hours search for chimpanzees and other primates like L’hoestes monkey, Red-Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys jumping around in the thick forest. Others include birds, butterflies and many small insects. Your guide will make your walk informative and enjoyable by providing detailed explanations on all the forest’s fauna and flora. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. A visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge or kanyankyu ecological site.
DAY 8: KIBALE – KAMPALA
Kibale region is endowed with lots of crater lakes so after you have had a nutritious breakfast, do a tour in that area. And later proceed to Kampala with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel / Speke Hotel / Hotel Africana or Kampala Bed and Breakfast.
